Bromhexine is the main active ingredient used in most of Mucosolvan products. It is a synthetic derivative of the herbal active ingredient vasicine, a mucolytic agent that quickly targets the source of cough and helps break down and thin the mucus in the respiratory tract. It is a well-established pharmaceutical ingredient, available since 1963, used in more than 60 countries, studied in over 30 clinical and observational studies, with decades of experience as over-the-counter medication.
